Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR)

Foreword

This standard is formulated in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009, proposed by China Petrochemical Corporation, and managed by the Synthetic Rubber Branch of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products. This standard applies to nitrile rubber produced by low-temperature emulsion polymerization with butadiene and acrylonitrile as monomers.

Scope of application

  • Specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber.
  • Applicable to three types of nitrile rubber: medium bound acrylonitrile (25%~<30%), medium-high bound acrylonitrile (30%~<35%) and high bound acrylonitrile (35%~41%).

Technical requirements and practical applications

NBR is mainly used in the manufacture of oil-resistant and high-temperature resistant rubber products, such as seals, hoses, etc. The combined acrylonitrile content directly affects the oil resistance and physical and mechanical properties of the rubber. Volatile matter and ash content are important indicators for measuring the purity of rubber and ensuring stable product quality.
