Interpretation of the core content of the standard

Key Technology Breakthrough

This standard clearly defines the visible light range as 380-780nm, where the UV-A upper limit is set at 380nm instead of the traditional 400nm, mainly based on:

  • Material properties: Resin lenses have a natural absorption inflection point at 380nm
  • Biological effects: The weighted damage coefficient of the 380-400nm band to the eye is less than 0.1
  • Industry compatibility: Coordinated with the ISO 13666 standard for sunglasses

Ophthalmic optics application case

A brand of blue light protection glasses adopts the UV-A limit of this standard, and achieves this through a 380nm cutoff filter:
