Introduction
Interpretation of the core content of SY/T 0538-2021 standard
This standard replaces SY/T 0538-2012 and is applicable to the design, manufacture and acceptance of oil/gas heating furnaces in oil and gas fields and pipelines. It focuses on revising 12 key technologies such as thermal efficiency and welding process.
Comparison of major technical changes
| Technical parameters | 2012 version | 2021 version | Range of change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thermal efficiency requirements | Ungraded | In line with GB 24848 energy efficiency rating | New mandatory requirements |
| Furnace tube splicing welds | 2 allowed | ≤1 and length ≥500mm | Strictly 50% |
| Surface temperature limit | 65℃ | 60℃ (300mm from the door) | Reduce 5℃ |
Key design parameters
Furnace tube system design requirements
- Wall thickness calculation: δ=P×D/(2[σ]+P)+C, corrosion allowance carbon steel 3mm/chrome-molybdenum steel 2mm
- Expanded tube: nail head height ≤25mm, fin spacing ≥15mm
- Elbow pipe center distance preferably uses A series (such as DN150 elbow pipe center distance 305mm)
Refractory material selection matrix
| Liner type | Applicable temperature | Minimum thickness | Anchor spacing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cast lining | ≤1800℃ | 75mm (hot surface layer) | ≤300mm |
| Ceramic fiber | ≤1400℃ | 20mm (hot surface layer) | 150×225mm |
Implementation recommendations
- Anti-corrosion measures: Low iron castable (Al₂O₃≥40%) is required when sulfur content is >0.1%
- Welding control: Preheat 150-250℃ for chrome-molybdenum steel furnace tubes before welding, heat treatment at 600-720℃ after welding
- Environmental compliance: NOx emission limit 70mg/m³ (excess air coefficient 1.15)
Standard evolution analysis
This standard was revised for the third time (1994→2004→2012→2021), adding Chapter 13 environmental protection requirements, strengthening low-carbon combustion technology, and reflecting the industry's green development trend.
