《GB/T 14049-2008额定电压10kV架空绝缘电缆》由TC213（全国电线电缆标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国电器工业协会。
本标准代替GB 14049-1993《额定电压10kV、35kV架空绝缘电缆》。
本标准规定了交流额定电压10kV架空绝缘电缆(架空电缆)产品的型号、规格、技术要求、试验方法、验收规则、包装、运输及贮存。本标准适用于交流额定电压U(Um)为10(12)kV的架空电力线路用铜芯、铝芯、铝合金芯交联聚乙烯(XLPE)和高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)绝缘架空电缆。本标准与GB 14049-1993相比，主要变化如下：
――标准名称改为《额定电压10kV架空绝缘电缆》；
――删除了关于额定电压35kV架空绝缘的条目（1993版的第1章，3.1.3,4.1，表2，表3，7.7.2，表5，表8）；
――增加导体标称截面400mm2；
――删除对导体绞合节径比和绞向的规定；
――增中了线芯的标志方法；
――删除对有绝缘屏蔽电缆的局部放电作为例行试验项目；
――修改了10kV架空电缆的冲击电压试验值；
――按照GB/T 1.1-2000进行了格式的修改。
