Symbol system technical specifications
Symbol classification system
- Symbols based on scale: retain the length and width ratio of features (such as large reservoirs)
- Semi-scale symbols: only maintain the length ratio (such as rural roads)
- Symbols not based on scale: indicate positioning points (such as survey control points)
Implementation suggestions
Special attention should be paid when making maps:
- When features conflict, prioritize them according to the order of natural elements > artificial elements, primary elements > secondary elements
- No more than 3 vegetation symbols are allowed, and those with low economic value shall be discarded
- National boundary indication must be approved by the state, and the error must be ≤0.1mm
Technical evolution analysis
Main improvements compared to the 2007 version:
- Added 21 new element symbols to adapt to new infrastructure such as high-speed rail
- Optimized the symbol size algorithm, stipulating that the line thickness is 0.1mm and the dot diameter is 0.15mm
- Introduced CMYK four-color printing specifications, with a color difference tolerance of ≤5%
