Introduction
National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 35664—2017
Determination of Ammonium Ions in Atmospheric Precipitation Ion Chromatography
1. Background and Significance of Standard Formulation
Ammonium ions are an important component of atmospheric precipitation, and their concentration is directly related to the formation of acid rain and the assessment of nitrogen deposition. This standard adopts ion chromatography for determination, which has higher sensitivity and accuracy than traditional spectrophotometry.
2. Measurement Principle
Ion chromatography separates ammonium ions from other cations through a cation separation column, and detects them using a conductivity detector. This method can effectively suppress the background signal of the eluent and ensure the reliability of the measurement results.
3. Requirements for reagents and instruments
| Category | Name | Specifications | Preparation method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reagents | Standard stock solution | 1000.00 mg/L ammonium ion concentration | Prepared with analytical grade ammonium chloride or ammonium sulfate, stored at 4℃ for no more than 3 months. |
| Test solution | Concentration range is 10%-90% of sample concentration | Diluted from the standard stock solution, stored at 4℃ for no more than 1 month. | |
| Instrument | Ion Chromatograph | Equipped with conductivity detector, cation separation column and suppression column | Preheat for more than 2 hours to ensure baseline stability. |
4. Sample collection and storage
Follow GB/T 13580.2 standard. Samples should be analyzed as soon as possible, filtered with a 0.45 µm filter membrane before analysis, and interspersed with analysis of test solution and blank sample.
5. Analysis steps and quality control
5.1 Calibration curve preparation
Use the working standard solution to prepare a series of solutions with concentrations of 0.025 mg/L, 0.50 mg/L, 1.00 mg/L, 2.00 mg/L and 5.00 mg/L, and draw a calibration curve. The square correlation coefficient (r²) must be greater than 0.995.
6. Implementation suggestions
- Daily operation:The instrument should be warmed up for at least 2 hours, and the stability of the calibration curve should be checked regularly.
- Quality control:Precision and accuracy assessment should be performed after each batch of sample analysis to ensure that the relative standard deviation is within ±10%.
- External Verification: Participate in inter-laboratory comparison at least once a year, using acid rain reference materials GBW08672, GBW08673 and GBW08674 for evaluation.
