1. Standard Overview

GB/T 37641—2019 "High Performance Liquid Chromatography Method for the Determination of Stilbene Glycosides in Cosmetics" is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which is used to determine the content of stilbene glycosides, the main characteristic ingredient of Polygonum multiflorum in cosmetics. This standard specifies the principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, determination steps, result calculation and other contents of the qualitative and quantitative detection method of high performance liquid chromatography.


2. Background of Standard Formulation

Stilbene glycosides are an important natural stilbene compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory biological activities. In cosmetics, it is usually derived from Polygonum multiflorum extracts. In order to ensure product quality and safety, the national standard GB/T 37641—2019 came into being to standardize its detection method.
