Key technical requirements

1. Detection system configuration

The standard requires that the industrial CT system must include four major modules: ray source, detector system, mechanical motion control and computer system. Among them:

  • The linear array detector system must have the function of adjustable slice thickness
  • The number of projections collected per circle by the array detector system is ≥360

2. Typical defect identification

Quantitatively determine the defect type by the defect CT density ratio (X):

Case: In the carbon fiber/epoxy resin sample, when X=45.5%, it is a delamination defect (see Appendix D Figure f)

Calculation formula: X=(AB)/A×100%, where A is the CT value of the non-defective area, and B is the CT value of the defective area


Implementation suggestions

1. Process parameter optimization

It is recommended to use the optimal magnification formula: Mopt=1+(d/a)2, where d is the detector unit size and a is the focal spot size

2. Safety protection

Inspectors must:

  1. Obtain a radiation protection qualification certificate
  2. Wear a personal dosimeter (annual absorbed dose ≤20mSv)
  3. Perform regular health checks

Standard Evolution Analysis

This standard establishes a dedicated CT inspection method for fiber-reinforced composite materials for the first time. Compared with the general requirements of GB/T 29070:

  • New material-specific parameters (such as penetration curve)
  • Refine the quantitative defect determination method
  • Specify the comparison sample production specifications
