Introduction
Interpretation of the core content of the standard
This standard is equivalent to ISO13968:2008, which specifies the test method for the annular flexibility of thermoplastic plastic pipes, and evaluates the ability of the pipe to maintain its structural integrity by measuring the mechanical response of the pipe during radial deformation.

Test Equipment Requirements
The equipment system must meet the following requirements:
- The testing machine must have constant rate compression capability (in compliance with ISO9969)
- Equipped with a force measurement device with an accuracy of ±1%
- Deformation measurement resolution ≤ 0.1mm
Typical application case: In a 30% deformation test of a certain PE water supply pipe, the force curve shows an elastic deformation stage (0-15% deformation) and a plastic deformation stage (15-30% deformation).
Key points for implementation of the standard
Specimen preparation specifications
- Three specimens are taken from the same pipe section and marked as a/b/c
- The length may exceed the requirements of ISO9969 (need to be indicated in the report)
- State adjustment shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of ISO9969
Failure judgment standard
Failure is judged as failure when any of the following phenomena occurs:
- Cracks or splits in the pipe wall
- Material delamination
- Irrecoverable buckling deformation
Note: Whitening of the pipe wall is not considered as a basis for failure

- Clear definition of ring flexibility (Clause 3.1)
- Add force/deformation curve analysis requirements (Clause 8.2)
