Introduction

Interpretation of the core content of the standard

GB/T 39693.6-2020 is equivalent to the ISO 486:2018 international standard, which focuses on standardizing the hardness determination methods of three rubber rollers with different radii:

Rubber roller radius range Applicable method Instrument configuration requirements
>50mm Conventional/high/low hardness method With cylindrical support base or universal joint
4-50mm Conventional/high/low hardness method Fixed with special fixture or V-block
0.8-4mm Micro test method (CM) Wax fixation or micro fixture

Key technical points

IRHD hardness tester's indenter must meet the following requirements:

  • Initial contact force: 0.3±0.02N
  • Main pressure: 5.4±0.01N(conventional method)
  • Indentation depth measurement accuracy: 0.01mm

Implementation precautions

A papermaking rubber roller inspection case shows:

  1. A rubber roller with a radius of 120mm needs to use Hardness tester with universal joint base
  2. Surface temperature equilibrium time must be ≥4 hours (ambient temperature 23±2℃)
  3. Three-point measurement result deviation>3IRHD requires resampling

Standard Evolution Analysis

Main improvements compared to the 2003 version:

  • Add micro test method for rubber rollers with smaller radius
  • Clarify the mechanical tolerance requirements of curved surface support devices
  • Supplement the quantitative indicators of environmental equilibrium time
