Introduction
GB/T 4181—2017 Tantalum Wire Standard Interpretation
1. Background and Significance of the Standard
GB/T 4181—2017 Tungsten Wire is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which is used to regulate tungsten filament products used in electric light sources, electronic devices and other high-temperature environments. This standard replaces the old version GB/T 4181—1997, and the main revisions include brand classification, chemical composition requirements, size specification expansion and performance index optimization.
The formulation of this standard aims to improve product quality, adapt to the needs of industry technology development, and ensure the reliability and safety of tungsten wire in different application fields.
2. Tantalum Wire Brands and Types
| Brand | Type | Recommended Application |
|---|---|---|
| WK80 | G, T, L, W | High color temperature lamp filament, anti-vibration filament, spiral cathode hot wire of electronic devices, etc. |
| WK60 | T, L, W | Energy-saving lamp filament, double spiral general lamp filament, bracket, lighting electrode, etc. |
| WK40 | - | Heating element, furnace heating wire, lead wire. |
| W1 | - | Furnace heating wire, lead wire, welding electrode, etc. |
3. Dimension and tolerance requirements
The minimum and maximum diameters of tungsten wires vary according to the brand. For example, the maximum diameter of WK80 and WK60 can reach 2000μm, while the minimum diameter of WK40 and W1 is 400μm and ... respectively. Dimensional tolerances are divided into multiple levels (such as level I and level II) to ensure the accuracy and consistency of products in different application scenarios.
4. Chemical composition and performance indicators
Chemical composition requirements:
- Main element tungsten (W) content ≥99.95%
- Impurity elements such as Fe, Al, Mo, etc. are strictly controlled to ensure the purity and high temperature performance of the material.
Tensile strength index:
| Grade | Diameter range(μm) | Tensile strength range(N/mm²) |
|---|---|---|
| WK80 | 8~12 | 3200~4500 |
| WK60 | 12<≤18 | 3100~4400 |
| WK40 | ... | 2500~3700 |
5. Wire winding performance and high temperature creep test
The wire winding method is suitable for tungsten wires with a diameter range of 8~80μm, and requires no delamination or broken wires under a microscope. The high temperature creep test needs to be carried out at 1600±50℃ to ensure that the residual elongation meets the standard (such as the residual elongation value of WK80 ≤2.0).
6. Implementation suggestions and precautions
- Strictly purchase and produce raw materials in accordance with the standards to ensure that the chemical composition and size meet the requirements.
- Establish a complete quality inspection system, especially in terms of tensile strength and wire winding performance.
- Reasonably select the bobbin and rewinding method to avoid problems such as wire pressing and wire piling.
- Pay attention to the hot brittleness performance under high temperature environment to ensure the reliability of the product under extreme conditions.
