《GB/T 5753-2008钢丝绳芯输送带 总厚度和覆盖层厚度的测定方法》由606（中国石油和化学工业联合会）归口，TC428SC1（全国带轮与带标准化技术委员会输送带分会）执行，主管部门为中国石油和化学工业联合会。
本标准规定了两个用于测定钢丝绳芯输送带总厚度和覆盖层厚度的试验方法。方法A（厚度计法）用于测定所有的钢丝绳芯输送带的总厚度和覆盖层厚度。方法B（光学法）被推荐仅用于测定覆盖层厚度。本法不适应于带有织物或金属横向件或者在切割时钢丝绳端面发生扭曲的情况。 本标准等同采用ＩＳＯ７５９０：２００１《钢丝绳芯输送带　总厚度和覆盖层厚度的测定方法》（英文版）。
本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ５７５３―１９９４《钢丝绳芯输送带覆盖层厚度的测定》，因为国际上的发展，原标准在技术上已过时。 本标准与ＧＢ／Ｔ５７５３―１９９４相比主要变化如下：
―――增加了钢丝绳芯输送带总厚度的测定方法（见５．３．１．１，５．３．２．１）；
―――增加了仅用于测定覆盖层厚度的光学试验法（见５．３．３）；
―――增加了术语和定义（见第２章）；
―――增加了光学试验法测量装置的要求（见４．２）；
―――删除了用刀切除覆盖层图，增加了用于方法Ａ１的没有横向件和带有横向件的两个试样横截面图（１９９４年版的４．１．２，本版的５．３．１．２）；
―――增加了用于方法Ａ２的带有横向件的试样横截面图，并明确了横向件厚度不包括在覆盖层厚度内的测定方法（见５．３．２．２）。

Scope

This standard specifies two test methods for determining the overall thickness and cover thickness of steel cord conveyor belts. Method A (thickness technique) is used to determine the total thickness and cover thickness of all steel cord conveyor belts. Method B (optical method) is recommended only for the determination of coating thickness. This law does not apply to wire ropes with fabric or metal transverse members or where the end face of the wire rope is twisted during cutting.
