Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T11546.2-2022 "Determination of creep properties of plastics Part 2: Three-point bending creep" is modified and formulated according to the international standard ISO8992:2003, and is applicable to the creep performance test of non-reinforced and semi-rigid plastic materials in the three-point bending test.

3. Implementation suggestions

Test preparation stage:

  • Ensure that the specimen meets the requirements of GB/T9341, and pay attention to the influence of specimen orientation and thermal history.
  • State adjustment must be carried out under the conditions specified in the material standard. If there is no regulation, use GB/T2918.

Test execution stage:

  • The loading system deviation is controlled within ±1%, and special attention is paid to the influence of preload on the results.
  • The accuracy of the deflection measuring device must reach ±0.01% of the actual value. It is recommended to use non-contact equipment to avoid additional deformation.

Data analysis phase:

  • Calculate the bending creep modulus, stress and strain according to formulas (2), (3) and (4). It is recommended to draw creep curves and isochronous stress-strain curves to assist analysis.
  • Consider the effect of physical aging on creep, especially in high and low temperature tests, the storage conditions of the specimens must be specially noted.
