Introduction

1. Background and significance of standard formulation

With the rapid development of biotechnology, the importance of microbial detection in the fields of medicine, food, environment, etc. has become increasingly prominent. Traditional microbial identification methods are time-consuming and have limited accuracy, while mass spectrometry technology has become the new favorite for microbial identification with its high sensitivity and high throughput. The formulation of GB/T 42580-2023 "Smart Laboratory Microbial Mass Spectrometry Identification Platform" fills the domestic standard gap in this field and provides a unified technical specification for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the microbial mass spectrometry identification platform in the smart laboratory.

2. Platform architecture and functions

According to clause 5.1.1, the composition structure of the microbial mass spectrometry identification platform is divided into three layers: application layer, service layer and data layer.

  • Application layer realizes the interaction between users and the platform through the client, including the local MALDI-TOFMS system, the Web online identification system and the App query and analysis system.
  • The service layer is responsible for the identification service and data analysis and processing of the platform, and provides result data to the application layer through API, and is divided into two parts: the user management center and the service management center.
  • The data layer implements the function of building the standard atlas library and the user's private library, and interacts with the service layer through the interface.

3. Workflow

Clause 5.2.1 clarifies the data communication requirements between the platform and the laboratory information management system (LIMS). The user enters the unique number of the sample, and the platform sends information including the number, atlas file name, identification result and time to the specified interface address for easy call by other systems.

Implementation Case: User Private Library Construction

A biopharmaceutical company used the platform to create an exclusive user private map library containing the unique fingerprint data of its internal strains. By comparing with the standard map database, the identification efficiency and accuracy were significantly improved.


5. Analysis of Technological Evolution

The application of mass spectrometry technology in microbial identification has undergone a transformation from basic research to practical application. GB/T 42580-2023 integrates the latest cloud computing and Internet of Things technologies to realize an intelligent and networked identification process.

6. Implementation Recommendations

  1. Training and Technical Support: Ensure that laboratory personnel are familiar with the operation and maintenance of the platform, especially the calibration of quality control strains and the upload process of map data.
  2. Data quality management: Establish a strict quality control process to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the atlas database. It is recommended to conduct regular data backup and disaster recovery drills.
  3. Network security: Follow the requirements of GB/T 22239 and establish a multi-level security protection system to prevent sensitive data leakage and network attacks.
  4. Continuous optimization: According to actual usage, regularly update the standard atlas library and introduce new microbial species to maintain the technological advancement of the platform.
