Introduction
Interpretation of the core content of the standard
This standard specifies the technical requirements for preparing small tensile specimens of thermoplastics using C-type GB/ISO molds. The specimen size is ≥60mm×10mm×3mm (corresponding to CW13 type specimen in GB/T37426-2019).
Key technical requirements
| Elements | GB/T 17037.2 requirements | Comparison with international standards |
|---|---|---|
| Mold type | Four-cavity double T-type runner | Consistent with ISO294-2:2018 |
| Specimen thickness | 3.0mm±0.2mm | Tolerance increase compared to ISO standard |
| Clamping force calculation | FM≥5500×pmax×10-3 | Supplement the specific calculation formula |
Key points of injection molding process control
The standard specifically points out: When using a C-type mold, the injection rate should be twice that of an A-type mold (maintaining the same injection time). This is because:
- The cross-sectional area of the runner is only 9mm² (40mm² for A-type)
- Prevent the melt from cooling too quickly in the runner
- Avoid abnormal fluctuations in injection pressure
Suggestions for the implementation of the standard
- During mold acceptance, it is necessary to focus on checking the cavity depth (3.0-3.2mm) and shoulder radius (15-16mm)
- It is recommended to establish an injection time-rate comparison table, such as 80mm/s rate corresponds to 0.5s injection time
- The sample preparation report should include 6 mandatory information: standard number, material brand, process parameters, etc.
Technology evolution analysis
The main differences between this part and the 2018 version of the ISO standard are:
- GB/T17037.1-2019 is quoted to replace ISO294-1:2017
- The application example of the clamping force calculation formula is added
- The correlation between injection rate and runner structure is strengthened
