Scope

This standard expounds many factors involved in the voltage durability test of electrical insulating materials and systems, describes the voltage durability curve, lists the test methods and explains the limitations of the test methods, and also gives how to evaluate insulation based on the test results. Guidelines and Voltage Durability Terminology for AC Voltage Durability of Materials and Systems. This standard applies to the field of materials, and its test results may not be directly applicable to the performance of insulating structures. Voltage endurance tests are often used to compare and evaluate various insulating materials used in electrical systems. Determining the ability of electrical insulation materials and systems to withstand AC voltage stress is complicated, and many factors affect the results of voltage durability tests. Therefore, this standard only attempts to propose a unified point of view for simple design and analysis of voltage durability, which is applicable to various practical applications. Some files for the case already exist, the rest are under consideration.
