Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of food additive linseed gum. This standard applies to powdered products made from the seeds or seed skins of flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) through extraction, concentration, refining, drying and other processing techniques, and used in the food industry. The main component of flaxseed gum is water-soluble polysaccharide. The monosaccharides that make up the polysaccharide sugar chain are mainly glucose, xylose, galactose, rhamnose and arabinose.
