——The calculation method of the upper limit of cable outer diameter has been added (see A.2.7).

This standard was proposed by China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association.

This standard is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 213 National Technical Committee on Wires and Cables of Standardization Administration of China.

The previous editions of the standard are as follows:

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.10 and the following apply.

3.1

routine tests

R

test carried out, by the manufacturer, on all manufactured lengths of the finished cables in order to inspect whether all cables meet the specified requirements

3.2

sample tests

S

tests made by the manufacturer on samples of completed cable or elements taken from a completed cable so as to verify that the finished product meets the specified requirements

3.3

type tests

T

test carried out on a type of cable specified in this standard before supply according to general commercial principle in order to verify that the cable properties meet the intended service conditions

Note: This test is characterized by the fact that once the type test is conducted, it is unnecessary to repeat it unless the cable characteristic is potentially changed due to the change in material, design or manufacturing process of cable

3.4

rated voltage

reference voltage for cable structure design and electrical performance test

Note: It is expressed by U0/U in V; U0 is the voltage r.m.s. between any insulated conductor and the "ground" (cable metallic protective layer or surrounding medium); U is the voltage r.m.s. between any two-phase conductors of multicore cable system.
