The standard innovatively adopts the max i adsorption column combined with the DNA extraction scheme of tool enzyme A to solve the technical problem of extremely low nucleic acid content in edible oil. Experimental results show that:

  • The DNA recovery rate of soybean oil has increased to 82.3%±5.7%
  • The false negative rate of rapeseed oil detection is <0.5%

Background of standard evolution

With the global planting area of genetically modified crops exceeding 190 million hectares (ISAAA data in 2020), my country's imports of edible oil in 2021 reached 11.23 million tons. This standard fills the technical gap in the detection of genetically modified plant oil deep-processing products, and adds new exogenous gene detection targets such as pFMV35S compared with EU Regulation 1829/2003.


Implementation recommendations

  1. Laboratories should regularly verify the adsorption efficiency of microcentrifuge columns
  2. It is recommended to set up double parallel controls for each batch of testing
  3. Critical value samples (Ct36-40) need to be confirmed twice
